For those of you who haven’t heard of Secret Santa or know what the idea behind a Secret Santa is, we’ll start with a little introducing on how the ‘traditional’ Secret Santa system works (can such a modern invention be called traditional!!)
What is a Secret Santa?
Members of a group (typically in an office, factory or shop, although sometimes families use the method too) are randomly assigned another member of the group for whom they anonymously puchase and give a christmas gift. The idea behind the scheme is that no-one misses out on a present, and no-one has to spend out too much on presents for everyone in the office. Typically a modest limit of £5, £10 or £20 is set although for affluent offices of for families this is usually much higher.
